William "Bill" Stamboly, 91, of Utica, departed this life on Thursday July 7, 2022, with his loved ones by his side.
Bill was born in Utica, NY, the son of the late Norman and Sadie Mardany Stamboly. He was educated locally and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was married to the former Adeline Rosati for 60 years until her passing on Feb 13, 2014. Bill along with his wife operated a grocery store at Seymour Avenue and Eagle Street for many years.
Bill will be sadly missed by his children, William Stamboly and wife Christina, Joanna Demma and husband John, Cynthia Peters and husband James; his grandchildren, Anthony and Laura Stamboly, John, Kelly, Jamie Demma and Chris Murphy, Jene' and Dominick Spinella, Joseph, Lindsey and Alyssa Peters; his great grandchildren, Adrian Stamboly, John III and Grace Demma, George Demma, James Demma, Logan Spinella and Abigail Murphy. He also leaves his siblings, Eleanor Steppello, Evelyn Casper, Virginia and Louis DeGeronomo, Ronald Stamboly, Michael Stamboly and special in laws, Rock and Delores Rosati, Priscilla Rosati and Mary E. Rosati. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, a special friend, Tito Colon, who was like a son to him. He was predeceased by his siblings, Lorraine Tedesco, Mary and George Murad and Basil and Lois Stamboly and In laws Enzo Rosati, Anthony Rosati, Mary & Nicholas Altieri and Alice & James Delitto.
As per Bill's request, there are no calling hours. Bill's Celebration of life will be on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at St. Anthony St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave., Utica, NY, at 10:30 a.m., where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated with military honors conferred. Upon conclusion of the mass, the family will greet visitors at the vestibule of the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
