Warren C. Burritt's Obituary
Warren C. Burritt, 82, passed peacefully May 15, 2018 at his home in Whitesboro, NY with his loving family at his side.
He was born in Utica, NY to Charles and Aletha (Greenman) Burritt.
Warren served for 20 years in the Air Force where he met his wife, Trudy, while serving overseas in Germany.
He served a year in Vietnam and, after retiring from the Air Force, he was employed at US Materials and Handling for 20+ years.
Warren is lovingly remembered for his kindness, respect for others, joy for gardening, coin collecting, intense love for his family and pets, Hans and Buddy.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Trudy (Gudrun) Burritt, daughter Grace Burritt (Ken Fagut), son Warren JR (Holly), and 7 granddaughters; Corrie Pratt, Kate Lytle, Kasie and Tatianna Burritt, Rachel, Hannah and Jenna Fagut. He is also survived by his sister, Carole (Edwin) Healey, sister-in-laws Edna Burritt, Heidi Messing, Maria Geiss, and brother-in-laws Thomas Lehner, Richard Moore, Ernst (Irmgard) Geiss, Hansio (Heidi) Geiss, and many awesome nieces and nephews.
Warren was pre-deceased by his parents Charles and Aletha Burritt, mother-in-law Adelheid Geiss, fathers-in-law Albrecht Geiss and Hans Fuchs, siblings Jean (Lloyd) Perkins, Roger Burritt, Joyce Lehner, Gordon (Barbara and Mary) Burritt, Linda Moore, brother-in-law Albrecht Geiss and sister-in-law Helga Petry (Horst).
A special thank you to Carol and Dick Bord, Pat Rogowski, and Patty and Steve Kullmann for their love and support through this difficult time.
Warren's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 19, 2018 at the John L Matt Funeral Home, 3309 Oneida St. Chadwicks, NY at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. Interment will be at Sauquoit Valley Cemetery with full military honors.
