Theresa (Talerico) Pitrel, 99,  departed this life onThursday, September 26, 2024 with her family by her side. Born and raised in Utica, NY, she was the daughter of Leonardo and Gaetana Talerico.

Theresa was a 1943 graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. In 1946 she married her high school sweetheart, Dominick Pitrel, and went on to have five daughters during their 73 years of marriage together, until his passing  on February 1, 2020. When her children were all of school age, she had a 15+ years career at Marine Midland Bank in Utica where she made lasting friendships which lasted until the very until the very end of her life. Thank you, Jeanette, Roseanne, Cindy, and Ginny.

Theresa put her family first, she was a great baker, and all will miss her famous  cookies.

She will be sadly missed by her family, including her five daughters, Gayle Williams (Rock), Donna Lecourieux (Nico), Judy Pitrel (George), Mandie Pitrel, and Barbara Arcuri (Mike B.), six grandchildren, Jason Williams, Corinne Lecourieux, Marc Lecourieux (Alicia), Carmen Arcuri  CJ (Laura), Dominique Arcuri, Sierra Pitrel, and two great-grandchildren, Giuliana and Dominic Lecourieux. Theresa's many nieces and nephews meant the world to her, including Anthony (Lisa), who was like a son to her, Linda, Tom, Jimmy, Maryann, Diane, Marilyn, Linda, Cindy (Tony), Tommy (Lora), Al, Dominic, Steve, Mark, John, Paul, Matt, and Michele.

Along with her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her eight siblings, Bettina Grande, Mary Talerico, Agnes LoConte, Frank, Tony, Salvatore, Joseph, and Jimmy Talerico, sisters-in-law, Annie, Rosie, and Carmella, as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends, especially Jenny and Emma.

A special thank you to the loving, helping hands who helped care for Theresa at Barb's home, Denise, Jeanette, and the Hospice Care Staff.

Theresa's celebration of life will be held on Tuesday October 1, 2024 at 10:a.m. at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, 2222 Genesee St. Utica, NY (Lady of Lourdes), where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. There will be an opportunity to greet the family after the mass. Theresa will be laid to rest next to her husband Dominick at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, we ask you to consider donating to Hospice & Palliative Care or the Abraham House. Envelopes will be available at the church.
