Theresa Marfone Cyr, 70 departed this life on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, with her loved ones by her side.

She was born in Utica, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Martino) Marfone. Theresa was educated at local grammar schools, and graduated from Nordhoff High School, Ojai, California. She then attended Utica School of Beauty Culture, becoming a licensed cosmetologist. In 1969, she married Raymond G. Cyr and recently finished celebrating 49 years of marriage.

Theresa managed the beauty shops at Grant's Dept Store and Montgomery Ward, later opening her own salon during the years 1970-1993. In 1993 she became a foster parent for the House of The Good Shepherd, fostering over 25 children through the years.

She was an excellent cook who loved to prepare meals for her family and those she loved. Purple was her most loved color, and shopping trips and making crafts were a passion of hers.

She is survived by: her husband Raymond  G. Cyr, her children, son Raymond and Jennifer (Calenzo) Cyr, and her daughter Jennifer (Cyr) Hagg and Adam Chmura. She is also survived by: her sibilings, Mary-Jo Walker and husband Daniel, Joseph Marfone of Tennessee, and Michele Marfone of California. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Jessica Calenzo, Michael Cyr, Madison Cyr, Nina Hagg, and Trevor, Raymond and Andrew Cyr.

Her in-laws, Donna & Frank Parisi and Pat O'Shields of Florida survive her, as well as several dearly loved nieces: Rebecca Wisnicki, Melissa Williams, Amanda Jecko, and nephews: Robert O'Shields, Frank Parisi, Frank and Louis Marfone  and cousin Ed Salerno.

Theresa's Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 3 ^rd at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Church where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Salerno, Pastor. Interment will be in St. Agnes cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of the mass.
