Terry E. Benkowski, 66, of Marcy, NY, departed this life on Tuesday Dec. 27, 2022, with his loved ones by his side.

Terry was born in Utica, NY, the son of the late Edward and Gladys Herubin Benkowski, was educated locally and attended MVCC.  He was united in marriage to the former Diana Fiore, a union for 27 years.

Terry was employed at Mohawk Valley Psych Center and CNY Psych Center for many years.  During his free time he enjoyed fixing, repairing and building anything especially Toyota's and was known to many as "Toyota Terry".  He also worked in the construction industry and took great pride in the construction of the family log home.  His favorite passion was fishing for Walleye.

Terry will be sadly missed by his wife, Diana and was a "BONUS DAD" to Joan Bolton and her husband Steve, Robert Evans and his wife Rachel.  He was the best "POP POP" to his beloved grandchildren, Shawn, Alyssa, Claire, Gabriella, Julianne and Wesley.   Also surviving are his siblings Eugenia Chrzan and her husband Gary, Diane MCGovern and her husband Michael.   His brother–in-laws and sister-in-laws Richard and Lisa Fiore, Joseph and Lou Ann Fiore, Francis Fiore and Michael and Diane Fiore.  He also leaves several nieces and nephews and many special friends especially Cieslak family (Geno and Marlene),  Geno, John, Ronnie, George and so many more.  He was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law Lorraine and Steve Brady.

Terry's family would like to thank all our neighbors, friends and family for all their help around the cabin this fall and winter and to the doctors, nurses and staff at Oneida Health Care and the Roswell infusion center, in Oneida, for their compassion during this difficult time.

Terry's celebration of Life will be held at Holy Trinity Church, 1206 Lincoln Ave., Utica, NY,  on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. January 5, 2023 where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Canon John Mikalajunas. By family request please follow Covid-19 guidelines at the church.
