Steven Noel DePass, the son of the late Donald and Ardella DePass was born in Queens, New York. He passed away on June 2, 2020 at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Utica, New York.
Steven grew up in Amityville and was a graduate of Amityville Memorial High School. He attended college at the State University of New York. He eventually went on to have a long career in criminal justice and worked for both the New York State Division for Youth and New York State Department of Corrections.
Steven has been married to Mary Brown-DePass for 38 years and the pair are blessed to have two children; a son, Jared and a daughter, Gennie.
Steven had a full life filled with many different experiences. He was a mentor to many youth in the community. In his free time, Steven enjoyed being a security officer for the Utica City School District where he could not only help to protect the students, but be a role model as well. Steven also was an assistant scout master and helped several young men achieve the highest honor of becoming Eagle Scouts.
Steven was an avid New York sports fan and enjoyed watching his Giants, Mets and Knicks, win or lose. When he wasn't taking in a game, or working Steven could often be found in his favorite place, the kitchen, testing out a new recipe.
Steven leaves behind: his wife, Mary; daughter, Gennie; son, Jared (Sarah); mother-in-law, Mary Brown; two brothers: Donald (Caroline) DePass of Albany, NY, John – deceased (Deloris) of Queen, NY; three sisters: Nadine (Jimmy) Williamson of Arizona, Dana DePass of Albany, NY and Mona (Charles) Owens of Georgia; two aunts, two uncles; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives friends, co-workers and close family friends; David Jackson of Johnstown, NY, Angela DePass of Guilderland, NY and Cleon Frazier of Utica, NY.

Steven's family honored him in a private time because of the Covid-19 Pandemic a Celebration of his life will be posted at a time forthcoming at St. Paul's Baptist Church, 219 Leah St. Utica,NY.
