Shara L. Edwards, 64, a life long resident of Marcy, New York passed away on November 9, 2015, after a long illness. Shara battled her illness with dignity and courage up until the very end of her life. Shara was born the daughter of John and Arlene Blum Edwards and was educated in local schools. For many years Shara was employed as a Certified Nurses Aid by the Masonic Home (now Masonic Care Community) until a work related injury ended her employment. While employed, Shara was instrumental in organizing the union at that facility. This was an accomplishment that she was very proud of. In 2010 she became employed part time with Zogby Analytics as a call center interviewer, until her illness no longer allowed her to work. She leaves a brother and sister-in-law, John and Lynda Edwards, her nephews, John (Heidi) and their children, Brandi and Nicholas, James and his son Austin, Jeffrey and his children Gabrielle and Colin and Rob Webster and his son Jake, her cousin John Misiaczek and her cousin Lori Misiaczek and boyfriend Tom Mariano. Shara and Lori were more like sisters than cousins - having been extremely close since childhood. She also leaves Wendy (Dan) Harding, whom she thought of as a daughter and her long time friend Ruth (Dennis) Landherr. Shara was predeceased by her 7 year old nephew Joey in 1986. In keeping with Shara's wishes, there are no calling hours. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery next to her mother Arlene who passed away in 2006 with a grave side service at 10am on Saturday November 14, 2015.
