Robert "Yogie" Sloma, 82, of Sauquoit, NY departed this life on Friday April 17, 2020 at the Abraham House in Rome, NY. His loved ones were by his side.

He was born in Utica, NY, the son of the late Charles and Helen Sloma. Educated locally and working in the construction trade, he was employed as a truck driver. He was married to the former Joanne Harris for nearly forty years until her passing on August 14, 1999.  He again entered into marriage with Karen Bartholomew, a loving commitment of 12 years.

"Yogie" was interested in all things to do with trucks and was  an avid golfer and hunter too.

His beloved wife Karen and one son Kevin Sloma and his wife Missy survive him. He is also  survived by his grandchildren Andrew Sloma and his wife Brittany; Jessica Kellmurray and her husband Jordan, Kellie Sloma and Ali Sloma. Great grandchildren that survive him are: Raegan Kellmurray , Jack Kellmurray , Nora Kellmurray and Weston Sloma.  Also, his step children: Carla Williams and her husband Troy, and their children, Aryiah Smith, Sage, Finn and Van Williams, Suzanne Davis and her husband Mark and their son Jacob, Amy Reader and her husband Justin and their children Teresa, Leah and Averie Reader survive him. His son, Robert Sloma Jr., predeceased him.

The family gathered to commemorate his life at a private time.  There will be no hours or services until a later date when the  Covid-19 situation subsides.
