Robert P. Bernhardt, 90, of South Trenton, NY, departed this life on Sunday Feb. 11.2024 at Rome Memorial Hospital Rhcf .

He was born in Utica, NY the son of the late Evan and Bertha Merklinger Bernhardt and was educated locally.  He enlisted in the US Army and served honorably during the Korean era. Robert was united in marriage to the former Agnes Chambrone, the love of his life and enjoyed many years together until her passing in 1991. His working career started out as a short order cook, auto mechanic, truck driver and  was lastly  employed with Oneida County Waste Authority.

He is survived by his siblings, two brothers and sister in law, Roger and Linda Bernhardt of Sauquoit, and Richard and Carol Bernhardt of Chadwicks. He also has two sisters and brother-in-laws, Geraldine and Edward Kulesza of Texas and Sandra and Richard Griffith of Westmoreland He was predeceased by his  sister Barbara Manske in 2016 and just recently, his brother William Bernhardt in 2024.

As per Robert's request there are no services or calling hours, his family honored his life at a private time.
