Richard H.”Dick” Smith, 81 of Clinton, NY and formerly of the Sauquoit Valley departed this life in the comfort of his home on Tuesday July 28,2026.

He was born in Utica, NY the son of the late Harold John and Jane Shackleton Smith and attended schools in Sauquoit, NY and was a well-known upholstery fabricator operating Smith’s Upholstery for many years.

Dick is survived by his Best Friend and Caregiver, Marcia Knopka. He is also survived by his children and their partners: Graham Smith and Jon Andujar of N.Y. and Kim and Matt Reynolds of N.C. He leaves behind 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildrenas well.

The family thanks Dr. Arastu and Dr. Visalli for their care and compassion through the years. We are grateful to Hospice and its amazing nurses, without whom Dick's final wishes could not have been achieved.
