Raymond A. Arcuri, 71, of Ilion, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, in the comfort of his home with his beloved wife by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on November 21, 1954, the son of Raymond J Arcuri and the late Sally Balsamo Arcuri. Raymond was a proud graduate of Proctor High School and earned his Bachelor degree from Syracuse University at Utica College. He dedicated over 30 years of his career to Oneida County, serving as the administrator of the Workplace Development Program for youth at risk, where his passion for helping others left a lasting impact on countless lives.
Raymond had a deep love for history and reading. In his leisure time, he could often be found by the pool on a sunny summer day, margarita in hand, soaking up the warmth and enjoying life's simple pleasures.
Raymond is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Lorrie Arcuri of Ilion; his father Raymond J. Arcuri of Herkimer ; his beloved children and their spouses: Ashley and Daniel Curri of Frankfort; Jessica and Jeff Reilly of New Hartford; Peter and Rebecca Paladino of Whitesboro; and Heather Paladino of Utica. He also leaves behind 11 cherished grandchildren: Vincent, Trevor, and Cameron Curri; Emma and Jeffrey Reilly; Jude, Jake, and Ava Paladino; Sean (Jr), Dominica, and Angelo Palmer.
Raymond is also survived by his close family and friends, all of whom held a special place in his heart, with an especially cherished bond with Gianna Laffey.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sikder and his medical team for their dedicated care, and to Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassion during Raymond's final days. At Raymond's request, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial, on Monday January 12, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Church, 2222 Genesee St. Utica,NY.
