Phillip H. Loftus, 65, of Boonville, NY passed away on March 3, 2026 at the Siegenthaler Center, New Hartford, NY, with family members at his side.
He was born October 30, 1960 in Riverside, California, the son of Martin and Jeanne Brockway Loftus. Phill spent much of his youth growing up in Barnegat, NJ before moving to Boonville, NY. A skilled carpenter, he helped build many homes throughout Central New York and the Adirondacks, leaving behind not only structures but a legacy of craftsmanship and pride in his work. He could fix just about anything and never was he too busy to lend anyone a hand. Phill cherished
time spent with family and friends and will be remembered for his dedication, strength and love he shared with those closest to him.
He is survived by his loving and devoted companion of many years, Mary Koslosky, his children, McKenna Loftus, Austin Loftus, Amanda Romero, Phillip Loftus, Jr., Angela Bauer, Brandon Widrick, whom he treated as a son,
several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Teresa Loftus (Tim Teesdale), Cheryl McMenama (George), Tracy Loftus (Jeanette), Richard Loftus (Josie) and Mardee Jo Loftus (Marc Ruff), the mother of McKenna Loftus and Austin Loftus, Danielle Benedict, with whom he shared a friendship that continued until his passing, his best friend of many years, Danny Poheresky and by his special feline, Oreo, who was always close by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, an infant brother, John, and Jennifer Jones, the mother of his children, Amanda Romero and Phillip Loftus, Jr.
The family would like to thank the truly amazing nursing staff at the Siegenthaler Center and the Hospice and Palliative Care team for their support, compassion and exceptional care of Phill in his time of need.
In keeping with Phill's wishes there will be no calling hours. There will be a private celebration of Phill's life held at the family's convenience. Interment will be held in the spring at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville at time to be announced.
