Philip J. Talento, 87, of Chadwicks, NY, departed this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care and Rehab Center.

He was born in Utica, NY, the son of the late Michael and Pearl (Dager) Talento and was a 1956 graduate of Utica Free Academy High School.

Phil enlisted in the US Army in 1956 and was proud of his military service.  He was a Tanker in 7th Army, 8thInfantry Division, and honorably discharged in 1958 at the rank of Specialist Third Class.  For half a century, he was a well-known and talented glass glazier and was previously employed with Utica Glass and D&M Glass companies of Utica.

On August 5th, 1979, Philip Talento and Myrna Koscinski were united in marriage, and they held that sacred vow for 44 years.  Myrna passed on September 29th, 2023.

He will be sadly missed by his children: Karen Gregory (Talento) and her husband Scott of Whitesboro, Jeff Talento of Florida, Michael Talento and his wife Jillian of Florida, Thomas Talento and Stephanie Brosemer of Chadwicks, and Matthew Talento and his wife Colleen of Chadwicks.  Also surviving him are his grandchildren Joshua Gregory, Noah Gregory, Emma Gregory, Ryan Day, Braden Day, and Sophie Talento, as well as many nieces and nephews.  Predeceasing Philip are also his six siblings: Angela, John, James, Rosemary, MaryJane, and Carolyn.

Philip's service will be held on Thursday, October 24th, at 12:15pm at the John L Matt Funeral home, 3309 Oneida St. Chadwicks, NY.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 10am to 12pm.  Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery with full military honors conferred.
