Klosek
February 24, 1940 – January 10, 2025
Norma A. Klosek, 84, of New York Mills, NY passed away peacefully early Friday morning, January 10, 2025, with her family lovingly by her side.
Norma was born in Saranac Lake, NY on February 24, 1940, the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Lincoln) Jones. She grew up on Norman Ridge in the Adirondacks, graduated from Saranac Lake High School and attended Technical Manpower in Utica, NY where she met George Klosek. They were united in marriage on August 24, 1968.
Norma's places of employment include Howard Johnson's, the Utica Public Library, Mohawk Valley Community College, the Oneida County Department of Social Services and McPike Addiction Treatment Center of Utica, NY where she retired. Through Norma and George's example, they instilled in their children and grandchildren their incredible work ethic.
Norma and George loved to dance, they were often the first ones on the dance floor and the last ones to leave. Norma was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and taking long walks. She enjoyed family functions, shopping and attending garage sales and thrift stores. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Norma is known for her beautiful smile and generous spirit.
She is survived by her husband George and their four children, Wayne Klosek of Utica, Diana (Edwin) Brown of Canastota, Tammy Daly of Whitesboro, Michael Klosek and his companion, Danielle James of Whitesboro; her grandchildren, Jared Daly, David (Alice) Giordano, Alex Daly, Daniel Giordano, Samantha (Brian) Roux, Sophia Klosek, Everett Klosek, Anthony Santomassino, Bella Santomassino and Ashton Giordano; three great grandchildren, Carter, Ava and Nora; her brother, John (Elizabeth) Jones; brother in-law, David Klosek; several cousins, nieces and nephews along with step-grandchildren, Missy Shay, James Brown, Marcus Brown, Austin Bennet and Kaden James.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Beverly Beane Batsford, Barbara Johnson, George Jones, Raymond Jones and Thomas Jones; mother and father-in-law, Wanda and Michael Klosek; dear friend, Jeffrey Cuda and daughter-in-law, Alicia Klosek.
As per Norma's wishes there will be no services or calling hours. A celebration of Norma's life will be held in June 2025.
Donations in memory of Norma Klosek can be sent to Hospice Palliative Care.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at MVHS Rehab Center and Hospice for their excellent care and compassion during Norma's final days.
