Nelly Jean Dapice, 81, of Utica departed this life on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. Nelly Jean was born in Neptune, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Eugene and Nelly May Ferris Walters. Nelly received her BA at Blackburn College, Carlinville, IL, and later advanced her studies receiving a MS in English Education and Library Science, from Syracuse University. Nelly Jean settled in Utica 52 years ago and married Frank S. Dapice in 1986. She taught in the Utica School District retiring in 1994. Nelly is survived by her husband, Frank and her three children, Deborah Lynn Jeanblanc, Delaware,OH, Dr. William Dean Jeanblanc, and his wife Katy, West Bath, Maine, Wesley Jeanblanc, Key West, Fl. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Nelly Jean's Celebration of life will be held at 5 pm, Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes's Church where her mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev Joseph Salerno. Family will greet guests at the conclusion of the service. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
