Morse Grant Hale II March 26, 2007 Morse Grant Hale II, Moe to his family and friends, passed away Monday at home. Born 58 years ago in Syracuse, and a lifelong resident of that city, Moe had varied interests and vocations. A true entrepreneur, he was active in his early life with automotive and drag rac- ing pursuits. He was a legend at the local race tracks with his '55 Chevy, known as "The Hang- man" and within the racing cir- cles. Later in life, Moe owned a gas station and automotive parts store, was a realtor, a dis- patcher for a trucking firm and, most recently, was an antique dealer. Always upbeat and pos- itive, he was beloved by his family and friends. He was pre- deceased by his father, James Gaylord Hale Sr.; his mother, Mary-Esther Plank Hale and his brother, James Gaylord Hale Jr. He is survived by his three sisters, Carolyn A. Pierce of Buffalo, Margaret C. Hale, New York City and Sarah E. (William) Johnston, Charlotte, Michigan; his nieces and nephew, Lisa Pierce, Buffalo, Christopher Pierce, New Mexico and Cyn- thia Pierce, Kansas City, Miss- ouri; by his grandnephews, Ja- cob and Stephen Puff and Benjamin Pierce and his great- niece, Meghan Pierce Dean. He will also be especially missed and mourned by his dear cous- in, Donna Cross DeShales; his longtime friend, Rebecca Bain; his wonderful cat, Stuart and a multitude of loyal and loving friends. Calling hours will be on Sun- day from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syr- acuse.
