Monica Marie Carter, 37, of Rome, NY, passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2025 at Rome Hospital, Rome, NY.

Monica also known by many has "Mook" was born on May 29, 1988 to Penny L Carter in Rome, NY.

She worked at several jobs in Rome, NY, Byrne Dairy, ACE Hardware, R-Tronics, LLC and Stan's Seafood, Inc.

Monica favorite past times were Urban Archeology, took up knitting, gardening, loving her children and hanging with family and friends, Jesse Fox and John Boden.

Monica is survived by her loving and devoted Mother, Penny, she was blessed with two step-fathers who loved and cared for her, John McDevitt and Eric Legler, by her children Jaylynn, Seth and step-son Noah, sisters and brothers, Caroline, Mercedes, Zackery, Mason, and many nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by the people who loved her. The family would like to thank the staff at Rome and St. Joseph's hospital.
