Michael D. Trunfio, Sr., 94, of New York Mills, NY, departed this life on Monday December 1, 2025 at the Abraham House, Rome, NY.

He was born in Utica, NY the son of the late Dominick and Nancy Bagnato Trunfio. He was a graduate of Proctor High School.

A family man, and Restaurateur of 45 years who loved and served his customers remembering all their names.  He and his brother Danny ran Trunfio's Restaurant for several years.  He went on to establish Michael T's Restaurant with his family, retiring after several years.

He hosted the annual spaghetti dinners at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in New Hartford.

In his earlier years, Michael excelled in racquetball, winning numerous Empire State medals.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann (Siegwart), children: Carol Thomas (Donald) of Bridgewater, Michael Jr. (Karen)
of Clinton, David of Utica, Christine Rooney (Tom Sabido) of Rochester; grandchildren: Jennifer Deserre, of Frankfort, Justin Rooney of Philadelphia, Kylie Trunfio of Syracuse, Erin Rooney of Rochester, Alexis Trunfio of NYC, Gianna Trunfio of Syracuse, great grandchildren Broc and Giulianna Deserre of Frankfort.  Sisters in laws Lucille Sellars of New Hartford and Joan Ryan of Trumbull, CT, special goddaughter, Darlene Karam of Utica, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Dominick and Nancy, and siblings Anthony Trunfio, Marian Clendennen,  Joseph Trunfio,  Frances Craska, Angela Kistowski, Daniel Trunfio and Nancy Greco.

Michael's Celebration of life will be held December 4, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, 2222 Genesee St. Utica,NY, where a mass of Christian burial will be  celebrated.
