Mr.Michael P. Riker formerly of Utica, the son of the late Howard R. "Bud" Riker and the late Irene Snelgrove Riker, departed this life after a brief hospital stay due to long term health problems, in a Las Vegas hospital on April 23, 2021.

Mike was born in Utica in 1948. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes grammar school and Notre Dame High school. In 1968 Mike enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corp and served in Vietnam.

Returning to civilian life he worked for Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. until he was injured in a car wreck in 1986. He was a resident of Pahrump NV for the last 30 years.

He leaves behind two brothers, Robert (Laraine) of Newfield NY and David (Robbin) of Sauquoit NY as well as nieces Tiffany (and her children) and Heather and nephews D. J (and his children) and Dylan. His cousins John, Maureen and Karl of Wales and their families, also survive him.

Mike was and avid sports fan with particular interest in hockey and Yankee baseball.

Michael's Celebration of life will be held at Calvary Cemetery's Christ Our Savior Chapel Friday May 7 at 11 a.m. with military honors offered by the USMC. All those attending must follow COVID restrictions by wearing a mask over nose and mouth. Interment will follow at the convenience of the family.
