Michael B. Gigliotti, age 90, of Stoneleigh Apts., Canastota, NY, entered into rest Sunday, March 30, 2014, at the Presbyterian Home, with the love and support of family and friends. Born in Utica on July 24, 1923, Michael was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Jones) Gigliotti. He was raised and educated in Utica and attended T. R. Proctor High School. He was at one time married to the former Rose Demma. Michael was self employed for many years, with his father, in the family business, Gigliotti's Appliance Sales & Service, in East Utica. Mike was a disabled WWII Army veteran. He drove truck for Gold Medal and was a former Village Trustee in Sylvan Beach. Mike had a good work ethic and was a true friend to many. He was a very generous man, giving of his time and money, to many worthwhile charities, most especially, St. Jude. Michael is survived by his devoted niece & nephews, Kathy and Bob "Givo" Giovinazzo of Utica and Andrew J. Laria, MO. He also cherished the memory of his special companion of 32 years, Patricia Taylor. Survivors also include many life long friends, with special mention of Don Marino, Tony Graziano, Debba Harp & his Stoneleigh "family". Special thank you to the Willow staff and Rehab staff at the Presbyterian home. He was predeceased by his sister Frances Laria and brother Joseph C. "Gene" Gigliotti, Jr.& Rosemary Gigliotti. Mike's family honored him in a private gathering at the funeral Home as per his request. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2p.m. April 2,2014 at St Agatha's Church, 329 N. Peterboro St., Canastota,NY where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev.Stephen Wirkes, Pastor. Military services will concur after mass.
