Michael Dowd, 99 of Sauquoit, NY died Tuesday April 21,2015 at Harding Nursing Home Waterville,NY. He was born In Clinton, NY the son of the late Michael and Katherine Clare Dowd and was educated in local schools. On July 17,1937 he was united marriage to the former Evelyn Magadieu for 69 years until her passing in 2006. Mr. Dowd was a machinist for many years with Drop Forge. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's St. Anthony's Church Chadwicks, NY. He is survived by his son Donald Dowd and his wife Mary Lou , Sauquoit,NY. Three Daughters Mrs. Barbara Garbera of Richfield Springs; Mrs. Kathleen Brown and husband George, of Sauquoit, and Susan Barkley, Cassville. Also surviving are four grandchildren David Dowd and his wife Debbie; Amy Vandehei,Michael Barkley and his wife Michele and Matthew Barkley. Four great grandchildren Katie Roberts ,Toni Barkley, Cassondra Powers, Conner Vandehei. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by Five brothers and four sisters; Philip Dowd, Edward Dowd, Martin Dowd, John Dowd, James Dowd, Agnes O'Dowd, Catherine Gibbons, Julia Hazard and Frances Timmian. Michael's Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Monday April 27,2015 from the John L. Funeral Home, 3309 Oneida St. Chadwicks, NY and at10 a.m. at St. Patrick's St. Anthony's Church Chadwicks, NY where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Abe Esper.
