Michael A.
Curriere, Iii
June 8, 2025
Michael Anthony Curriere III, aged 47, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, in Albany, NY, with his family by his side.
Michael was born in Utica, NY, to Deborah (George) and Frank Curriere Sr. He grew up in Utica and Ballston Spa, where he attended and graduated high school. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Utica College and a Master's degree from SUNY Oswego. He worked in Albany for the New York State Department of Labor as a Workforce Programs Specialist, a role that perfectly suited his sharp mind and attention to detail.
Michael will be remembered most for his warm presence and quick wit. Always ready with a joke, he could light up any room with his humor and easygoing nature. He was a devoted family man—dependable, present, and never too busy to take a call or attend an important moment. His kind heart and sense of humor made him deeply loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Frank and Deborah (George) Curriere, his brother and sister-in-law Frank and Laura Curriere, and by their children Lydia, Angelia, and Frank, who adored their Uncle Michael. He also leaves behind his aunts and uncles; Joseph George, Barb (Tom) Bittner, Jim (Barb) George, Madlyn (Gerard) O'Sullivan, Richard (Marti Brennan) George, Lisa George, Roseanne Christensen, Michelle (William) Lopiccolo, Philip (Deb) Curriere, Lori (George) Lismore and Tommy Curriere. He also leaves his loving cousins who will miss him dearly.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Madlyn (Jacob) George; his paternal grandparents, Michael (Priscilla) Curriere Sr and Lorraine Curriere; and his uncles, Michael Jr and Patrick Curriere.
The Liturgy of the Faithful Departed will take place on Friday June 13,2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Louis of Gonzaga Church, 520 Rutger St., Utica celebrated by Abouna Boutros El Hachem, Pastor.
