Obituary




Mary Jane Salatino, at age 92, entered into eternal rest, on Saturday Dec. 30,2017 in the comfort of her home with her loved ones by her side.

She was born Maria Giovanna Sacco to the late Paul and Theresa DeFazio Sacco, second eldest of their five children.

On June 29, 1946 she married Vincent J. Salatino, and they raised their six children until his passing in 1994.

Mary Jane was a dedicated wife and mother, but she placed Jesus Christ first in every decision throughout her life.She embraced and inspired many people to follow Jesus's path to heaven.

She will be sadly missed by her loving family. She is survived by her children Anthony B. Salatino, Syracuse, NY, Vincent James Salatino and his wife Ann, Teresa(Terry) Murad and  her fiancee John Husnay, Brion P. Salatino and his wife Karen, Lafayette,NY, David M. Salatino and his wife Catherine, Frankfort, NY and Christopher J. Salatino and his wife Kimberly.

She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Carmelann and Mario Scalzo, her two brothers and sisters-in–law Angelo and Julie Sacco and Paul and Karen Sacco, her beloved grandchildren, Mark and Margaret Salatino, Renee and Patrick Hughes, Teo Salatino and Ashley Fundahn, Brion Paul and Amanda Salatino, Maria and Sarah Salatino, Adriana, Victoria, Sophia, Gianna Salatino, Christopher,Jr., Cory and Kendall Salatino; George, Thomas and Daniel Spinella, John, David and Cianna Husnay.Her beloved great grandchildren Daniel and Ryan Salatino, Katie Hughes, Sadie and Paisley Salatino. Her in-laws, Jennie Jones, Delores Citriniti and Sandy Salatino. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Bernard (Benny) Sacco and his wife Evelyn.

As per Mary Jane's wishes there will be no public calling hours.

Her celebration of life will be held Wednesday January 3,2018  at 12 noon at St. Mary Mt Carmel / Blessed Sacrament Parish where a mass of Christian burial will be concelebrated. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.

Contributions can be made to Hospice Palliative Care. Envelopes will be available in the church.
