Marion E. Shanne,92, of Utica, NY departed this life on Monday July 29,2019 at the Masonic Care Community.

She was born in Rome, NY the daughter of the late Harlow and Freida Stagner Pelton, she was a graduate of RFA.

On Sept. 24,1945 she married Robert Shanne and they celebrated 66 years together until his passing in 2011.

Marion was very active in the Utica community and once was the President of the PTA at Kemble St School. She was the commissioner of zoning for the City of Utica during the Hanna administration; Marion was lastly employed as the Office Manager at Bradlee's Department Store.

Marion is survived by her two sons; Darrel Shanne and his wife Carol, Yorkville, NY and Bruce Shanne, and his wife Valerie, Arizona City, AZ.

Also surviving are four grandchildren; Darcey Park and her husband Michael, Christopher Shanne and his fiancé Rebecca, Jordan Shanne and his wife Karina and Dillon Shanne, great grandchildren; Stephanie and Shanne Bulinski; one great great grandchild Mason.

The family honored Marion in a private service at Calvary Mausoleum. There are no calling hours.

The family would like to thank the staff Wiley Hall and the Health Pavilion at Masonic Care Community for the great care Marion received.
