Mrs. Marcia A. Waszkiewicz Rizzo, 71, of New Hartford entered into rest Thursday August 07,2008 at St. Elizabeth's medical center with her loved ones by her side. Marcia was born in Utica the daughter of the late Stephen L and Isabel A. Borys Waszkiewicz .She graduated from U.F.A. and Elmira College and Syracuse University receiving a Masters degree in education. On April 11 ,1963 she married Salvatore A. Rizzo a blessed marriage commitment of 45 years. Mrs. Rizzo was a Library Media specialist with the Utica school systems for many years retiring in 1998. She was a member of th N.Y.S.U.T. and the Utica retired teachers association. She is survived by her devoted husband Salvatore A. Rizzo, New Hartford; Her 2 sisters and 2 brother in laws; Mary Ellen and Thomas Morrissey, Tuczon,Az.; Margaret and John Mascaro, Camillus, NY; Special Niece Carol Clare and her husband Michael, Utica; Along with many other nieces & nephews great nieces & nephews; 1 great great nephew Colin Scanlon;Utica The family would like to acknowledge the service of the New Hartford Police dept. and the Edwards Ambulance Service. The Emergency Dept. at St Elizabeth's Med. center especially Dr. Kahn. Special thanks to her friend Dr. Fred Talarico and his Staff. Marcia's celebration of life will be held Monday at2;00 p.m. August 11,2008 at St.John the Evangelist church,New Hartford, Ny where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. In keeping with Marcia's wishes there are no calling hours. Family will receive visitors in the vestibule at the conclusion of mass. In lieu of flowers contributions will be made to St. John the Evangelist Church. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
