Manuel "Manny"
Heredia
February 16, 2025
Manuel "Manny" Heredia, 53, of Utica, NY passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday February 16, 2025 at Wynn Hospital after an illness that took him far too soon.
He was born and raised in Utica, NY to the late Ismael Heredia and Sandra Colon on August 11, 1971. Surviving to cherish Manny's memory are many family and friends, including the mother of his three youngest children whom he shared 13 years together, Jaime Decker; their children Maximus, Mariana and Montana Heredia. His children were surely the light of his life. He also leaves behind his two older children Breanna Vaughn and Diego Heredia, as well as his grandson Kai Villegas. Manny leaves behind his siblings; Kathleen (Louis) Rios, Donald (Marybeth) Lotoski, Dennis Lotoski, Carmen Quiros, Emilia Rowlins, Kermis Dejesus (Santina Mancuso), Jennifer (Brian) Stefka, Moe Heredia, Juanita Heredia, Miguel Heredia, Jose Heredia and Carmen Heredia. Along with many nieces, nephews and great nephews, including his nephew Ismael (Chickie) Heredia whom he shared a special bond with.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ismael Heredia and Sandra Colon as well as his brother Ismael Heredia. He also leaves behind Jaime's family who he shared many years with and considered to be his family; Donald and Barbara Decker, Patricia Airel, Jill and Johnnie Aceto, Jason and Heather Decker and their children who he called his own nieces and nephews. Manny also leaves behind a life long friend that he cherished, Eddie Fargas.
If you knew Manny, you'd know the two things he loved most were spending time with his children and attending any family gathering that involved food. He enjoyed the winter weather and taking his three youngest out to play in the snow. He taught his youngest son Montana to play chess, bonded over coloring with his daughter Mariana, and loved listening to his son Maximus talk about history and any interesting facts he found. Manny had a sense of humor that kept everyone smiling and laughing and will be truly missed.
