Mrs. Madeline Pape, 97,of Utica, NY, entered into rest Monday, August 17,2015, at the former St. Joseph's Nursing home with her loved ones by her side. Madeline was born in Utica the daughter of the late Dominick and Victoria Spiridigliozzi Tanzi. She was married to Nicholas Pape for 53 years until his passing in 1992. Mrs. Pape was employed at Sperry Rand for many years and was lastly employed at Munson Williams Proctor Institute. She was a loving mother and grandmother as well as a great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by her family. Surviving are her beloved daughter Loretta Courto, one brother C. John Tanza and his wife Lee, her beloved grandchildren; Paula Courto, Daniel Courto and his wife Joanne, Laurie Rinaldo and her husband Joseph, Michael Courto, Mark Courto and wife Kathy, Lisa Courto, Nicholas Courto and his wife Gina; eight great-grandchildren; Nicole Panait, Christopher Spring, Christina Rinaldo, Jenelle Edwards, Nicholas Courto, Daniel Courto, Genna Courto, Elise Courto. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother John A. Tanza; son-in-law Thomas (Tim) E. Courto and niece Marie V. Tanza. The Funeral will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Friends may call Thursday from 5- 7 pm at the John L. Matt Funeral Home, 3309 Oneida St, Chadwicks,NY. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Calvary Cemetery.
