Luis A. Marrero, 54, of Utica departed this life on Thursday June 11 ,2026 at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital with family by his side.

He was born in Brooklyn the son of the late Juan Martinez and Ramona Marrero, he was educated in NYCITY Schools and worked as a security officer for many years at the Manhattan VA Hospital.

He was united in marriage to Melissa ( Lisa) Parker September 20,1996 and from this marriage they had Anthany, Joshua, Juan, and he fathered Jermaine and Dashawn.

He is survived by his beloved wife Melissa (Lisa) his sons Anthany, Joshua, Juan Jermaine and Dashawn. One daughter survives him, Joanne Colon. Also surviving his grandchildren; Serenity, Jeremiah, Skilynn.

Remembering a truly honorable, charismatic, and strong family man whose love, wisdom and unwavering devotion touched everyone he knew. His strong character, warm spirit, dedication to his family and his comedic light will forever be cherished and remembered. Though he is gone, his presence lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
