Linda Calenda, age 79, of Utica, NY departed this life on Sunday April 12, 2026 with her loved ones by her side at The Pines SNF of Utica.

She was born in Utica, NY the daughter of the late Francis Pexton and Edna Kates Pexton. She attended Westmoreland High School and later attended MVCC where she received an AAS Degree in Social Work. For many years she worked at Oneida County as a Support Investigator retiring at age 65.

Linda was united in marriage to Salvatore Calenda and from that union they had two children Chery and Anthony, Salvatore passed in 2016.

She was a loving mother grandmother and great grandmother and sister and will be sadly missed by her children; Cheryl Calenda and her husband Joseph Alberico; Anthony Calenda, beloved grandchildren; Lissette Guzman, Joseph Alberico, IV, Alex and Bella Alberico. Her five great grandchildren; Anthony, Jackson, Nadia, Scarlette and Mazi. Also surviving are her sisters; Pamela Campbell and her husband Scott; Amy Riemersma and her husband Pete; and her brother Daniel Pexton.

Linda’s Children would like to thank her sisters, Pamela and Amy for their loving care during her illness. The family would like to thank the fourth floor care givers at the Pines SNF.
