Lila A. Albigese,89, departed this life on Thursday December 10,2020 at the Eddy Village Green, Cohoes,NY.
Lila was born in Utica, New York on January 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary DiOrio. Lila shared a very special bond with her father, Tony.
Lila was educated in local schools and she was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Later in life, she pursued a career in Nursing. Lila worked at the Utica Psychiatric Center as a RN Charge nurse and she was revered by many.
Lila was an avid antique collector; she volunteered her time at the Salvation Army and at the ARC gift shop. She loved traveling overseas and going to Maine. Her favorite time was being on Oneida Lake with her family. Lila was known for her generosity and kindness, often toward those in need. Lila is survived by her children Steven and Darlene (Dunbar) Albigese, Richard and Kathy (Miller) Albigese and Laurie Albigese. She also leaves her treasured grandchildren, Andrea Hemmerick, Darlene Wilburn, Michael Albigese, Andrew Albigese, and Marie Albigese. Her cherished great grandsons, Christopher and Steven Wilburn. Lila is survived by her sister-in-law, Georgianne Di Orio and many nieces and nephews. Lila was pre-deceased by her brother, Louis Di Orio, and her best friend, Esther Goldstein.
