Kasimir J. "Charles" Sobolewski, 81 of Marcy departed this life Saturday on October 20,2018 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse,NY

He was Born in Utica ,NY the son of the late Josef and Agnes Piekielniak Sobolewski. He was a graduate of UFA and enlisted in the US Army in 1961, where he served as a cook. He met Mom the former Exilda "Butch"Och and were married on July 21,1962 a union lasting 55 years, until her passing on September 17,2017.

In his youth, Dad enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing with his brothers, activities that he enjoyed throughout his entire life. Over the years he had several holes-in-one. He and Mom camped at the same site in Canada for over 47 years making many special fiends. Vegetable gardening and working around the garage were favorite activities, he was happiest outdoors.

Dad self-taught himself many things expanding his career as a tool and die maker as well as  auto mechanic. Dad loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren especially "Eddie" and his gardening helper "Ivory".

Mom and Dad enjoyed fishing on Oneida Lake, Delta Lake and especially in Canada where he was always after walleye. His prize catch was a 43 inch Northern Pike which he had mounted and had hanging in the living room for 40 years. He will long be remembered for enjoying family clambakes and gatherings with his brothers and sister and their families. Dad took special pride in carrying on the tradition of pierogi, and recently begun baking, creating a butternut squash cake, which he was very proud of.

Survivors: Bambi Roman, daughter, Marcy NY Christine Abdelhak, daughter, Rome, NY Linda (Tom) Falk, daughter, Otego, NY Grandchildren: Charles (Kelly) Roman, Jennifer O'Hara, Joseph Falk, Kathleen (Bernett) Zeh, Jeffey (Catherine)Falk, Mohammed (Sam) Abdelhak, Halim (Kyle) Abdelhak, Kareem Abdelhak, Youssef(Joe) Abdelfattah Great Grandchildren: Ivory Roman, Edward Roman, Isabella Zeh Siblings: Josephine Lape, Utica, NY, Chester Sobolewski, Marcy, NY

He was predeceased by his two brothers; Edward and Stanley Sobolewski.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Nuero ICU at Crouse Irving Hospital for the excellent care and compassion shown to Dad and to the family during his illness

As per Dad's wishes there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are welcome to attend our Dad's grave site service with Military honors which will be held on Friday Nov.2,2018 at 10 a.m. at Carr Cemetery, Marcy,NY.. Per their wishes Mom and Dad will be interred at that time.
