Joseph L. Smith, Jr. 49, of New York Mills, NY, entered into rest on Friday July 16, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Oneida, NY, the son of Gloria Leyman Smith and the late Joseph L. Smith, Sr. Joseph attended Oneida schools and later gained employment with the Oneida City Hotel. For the past several years he has been employed with the Hotel Utica . He was a kind and considerate man who will be sadly missed by his family, friends and co-workers. Joseph is survived by his beloved mother Gloria Smith, of Hubbardsville, NY; his brother Timothy Smith and wife Pam, N.C. His two sisters Linda McKenzie, N.C. and Tammy Nellenback, S.C. A celebration of Joseph's life will be held at 4 p.m., Friday July 23, 2010 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 551 Sayles St., Oneida, NY, where the Rev. Brian Fellows will officiate.
