Joseph A. Scarafile, departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday Oct. 19, 2021, after a  long courageous battle with cancer.

Joe was born in Utica, the son of the late Anthony and Carmela Sadie Millo Scarafile.  He was educated in local schools and earned his Master's Degree from Syracuse University, where he began his early career as an educator.  He then became well-known as a successful Realtor and Homebuilder and was the owner and operator of Award Properties.

Joe is survived by his brother Michael G. Scarafile and his wife Lori, his nephew Charles Scarafile and niece Michaela Scarafile.  He also leaves special cousins, Linda Millo, Carol Raimondo, Anthony Nicotera, Lucille Soldato, Mary Lu O'Reily, and many extended cousins and wonderful friends.

Joe's Celebration of life will be held Tuesday Oct. 26, 2021, at 12 noon at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Lourdes campus, 2222 Genesee St., Utica, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Salerno, Pastor.

Inurnment will be at Christ Our Savior Chapel at Calvary Mausoleum at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers contributions will be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
