Joseph A. Marfone, 89, of New York Mills,NY entered into rest on Monday July 31,2017 with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Utica, NY the son of the late Joseph P. and Josephine Cardillo Marfone .

In 1945, he enlisted in the US Marine Corp. After his  basic training, Joe was later based in China for the repatriation of the Japanese. He was released from active duty in 1947. In 1950, he was reactivated to the Marine Corp, and went to Korea for two years and was honorably discharged as a Corporal.

He was employed at GAFB for 34 years, retiring in 1979.

Joe was a friend to many and will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his three daughters, Theresa Cyr and her husband, Raymond, Mary Jo Walker and her husband, Dan and Michelle Marfone, Calif; and his son, Joseph Marfone and his wife, Christie Green, Nashville TN.

Also surviving are his five grandchildren, Raymond Cyr and his wife, Jennifer, Jennifer Hagg, and her husband, Hans, Amanda Jecko-Manderson and her husband Craig, Frank and Louis Marfone; six great-grandchildren, Michael Cyr, Madison Cyr, Trevor, Raymond and Andrew Cyr and Nina Hagg;and his extended family, Rose and Randy and Tom Czternastek, whom he spent many years with.

Joe's celebration of life will be held Friday, August 4,2017 at Our Church of Our Lady of Lourdes at 10; 30 AM, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Salerno, with Military Honors conferred. The family will greet guests at the conclusion of the Mass. Private interment will be in St. Agnes cemetery.
