Mr. Joseph J. "Joe Beans" Barone, 81, of Utica entered into rest Saturday December 3, 2016.
Joe
was
born in Utica in 1935 son of the late Anthony and (Margaret Longo) Barone, and was educated locally and was a T.R. Proctor High School graduate.
He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955, and was honorably discharged.
On 10/14/1961 Joe married the former Loretta DiFiore; a blessed union of 55 years filled with love and devotion.
J oe was the longtime owner of Pasquale's Pizza until his retirement in 1999.
Joe cherished his family and loved to spend time with them over a good meal, especially looking forward to the Italian traditions on Christmas Eve. He also enjoyed fishing with his sons.
As an avid fan of the New York Yankees, he enjoyed everything baseball. He also liked to visit Turning Stone and the racetrack. He also spent a fair bit of time visiting with friends over coffee at Rogers coffee shop.
Joe was dedicated to his family and had a larger than life personality, which will be truly missed by many.
He is survived by; his wife Loretta Barone; two sons Anthony Barone, and Joseph P Barone and his wife Mary; his beloved granddaughter Tori Barone; and his sister in law Jennie Di Fiore.
Also surviving are many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his brother and sister in law Peter and Rosina Barone, brothers in law Rosario DiFiore and Albert DiFiore, sister in law Santina DiFiore, and many of his life long friends .
The family extends gratitude to the staff of the dialysis unit at Faxton, and Dr Goodman and Dr Kashtanova, along with the Staff of St Luke's Hospital for their dedication and care. They also give special thanks to Jennie DiFiore and John and Rita Lafayette for many extra acts of kindness during Joseph's last years.
In keeping with Joseph's wishes there will be no calling hours.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Joe's funeral service and celebration of life which will be held at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Blessed Sacrament Parish, on Tuesday December 20,2016 at 10 a.m.
By family request please omit flower offerings.
Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in the spring.
