Obituary

John Charles Bates, at the age of 61, departed from this world on Tuesday September 29,2020.
He was born in Utica on September 15,1959, and educated in Utica schools; living most of his life in the Mohawk Valley.
He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as family outings at Hatch lake.
Being extremely close to his Dad, the two spent many happy hours fishing in local streams and lakes.
He was quick to laugh and had a sense of humor about life even with all its tribulations.
John will always be remembered for his unique larger-than-life personality. We all pray that he has found peace.
John is survived by a daughter Sara, siblings; Mark (Laurie) Bates, Pamela (William) LaRock, sisters-in-law Bernie and Josie Bates,
a special Aunt June Taylor, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Jane Bates, siblings; Ernest Paul Bates, Lucille Mariott and Raymond Bates.
A graveside service will be held at Kirkland Cemetery, French Rd,Clinton,NY at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday October 14,2020, family and friends must adhere to covid restrictions.
