On April 15,2019 John Henry Barry, 52 years old, of Utica, NY ended his battle with cancer and left this world. He is survived by his beautiful children Zachary Barry and Stephanie Barry. He will be missed forever by his sisters, Diania Hansen, Cora Hauck and Beverly Proudman as well as his brothers Marvin (Freddy) Akley and Claude Akley. John has numerous nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers and they will carry his memory with them always. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Beverly and James Barry, and three older brothers James Akley, Delbert Akley and Paul Akley.

Cancer is a foul and nasty disease but for all of the pain and cruelty dealt to him by this monster it never conquered the light in his eyes, the warmth in his smile or the kindness he gave so freely to all. He genuinely appreciated the care shown to him by his friends and caregiver as his time drew near.

He was fortunate to spend his last few weeks in the constant company of his loving son Zachary and it helped him prepare to leave his tired body for his eternal home.

If the true measure of wealth is to leave this world better than you found it simply because you gave love and were loved by so many others then John Barry was a wealthy man indeed.

John's Celebration of life will be held at 11a.m. on Monday April 22,2019 at Focus Senior Living , first floor Chapel at 1445 Kemble St Utica, NY.
