Joan K. Cassidy, 80, of   The Grand Rehabilitation Center of Utica, departed this life on Wednesday  May 22, 2024 with her son at her side.

Joan was born in Utica, NY on March 20, 1944 to Doris Tibbits  Hensel and Arthur Hensel. She graduated from UFA in 1962, and retired from Mohawk Valley Oil after many years of employment.

She leaves her son Robert Cassidy, Jr., two grandchildren; Emily Cassidy and Nicholas Cassidy and soon to be bride Emily Lewicki. She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Douglas, and two sisters, Jean Longo and Carol Maher, a special niece Tracy Longo and many other nieces and nephews.

As per her wishes the family honored her at a private time.  Joan's  family wants to thank the Presbyterian Assisted Living and the nurses at the Grand. Last but not least special thanks to Robert Cassidy, Sr., her ex-husband for his help caring for Joan the past seven years.
