Janet Owens, 88, of Chadwicks, NY entered into eternal paradise on Thursday May 22,2025 at the Utica Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with her daughter Donna by her side.

She was born in Utica, NY the daughter of the late John and Gladys Saxe Bradley and was educated in Chadwicks school. She was united in marriage to Aubrey Owens Sr. until his passing in 2010.

Janet was very well known in the Chadwicks, NY area. She  worked  at the local restaurants, and Mele Manufacturing, She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Willowvale Fire Company, and participated in the Sports Booster of the Chadwicks Panthers  all while raising her family. Janet was a woman of fun nature, always loved a good game of bingo especially when she could yell" BINGO" and let's not forget WWF Wrestling! Janet was always there for everyone in their time of need especially for her family, a woman of true strength she was… and a woman who also enjoyed a good cigarette and a bloody Mary!

She will be sadly missed by her  Children; Donna Pfendler, Lorrie Weaver and her husband Kyle; Tammy Barroncini and her husband Joseph; Aubrey Owens Jr. and his wife Char; Dennis Owens and his companion Mary Waterman, and her infant son David who was forever in her heart. Her beloved grandchildren ; Monica Pfendler, Melissa Madore,, Dale Pfendler and his wife Christine ; Kristin Cornacchia, her husband Todd; Justin Smith and wife Gabrielle; Aaron Smith, Jennifer Screeder and husband Garth; Michael Owens and his companion Amber, Cassandra and her companion Ken, Daniel, Adrienne and her companion Dylan , Amanda Barroncini and her companion Brad; Ashley Barroncini, Jason Owens, Cody Owens Dante Cornacchia and his companion Nicole.  Also surviving are Host of Great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; Surviving are Janet's siblings Bob, Jack, twin sister Janice Brockett of Florida, Peggy Jones of Sauquoit, Elenore Miller, predeceding her in death are her siblings Ed Bradley, Charlotte Mazorowski, Joyce Almond and former son in laws Wayne Schmelzle and Dale Pfendler Sr, she is also survived by a host of  nieces and nephews and a very special friend Maryann Schloop of Chadwicks.  A special thank you goes out to Nicole Feketa for always checking on Grandma and making sure she was okay. Another special thank you goes out to Jay CNA from Utica Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for your care and compassion shown to our grandmother during her short stay. And last but not least, a special thank you goes out to Alyssa RN from Hospice for all you did for grandma and our family your kindness will never be forgotten.  Heaven has just received an upgrade, and Janet  has her wings. It's not goodbye it's I will see you later.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 28 from 4 pm to 6 pm at the John L Matt Funeral Home ,3309 Oneida St. Chadwicks, NY. There will be a prayer service at 6 pm. Following the visitation.
