Mrs. Harriet C. Wood, 102 a resident of the Masonic Care Community entered into rest on Thursday July 16, 2009. Harriet was born in Washington MIlls, NY, the daughter of the late Homer & Clara Waltz Clemons. She attended Chadwicks High School and transferred to the Utica Conservatory of Music where she graduated. Harriet married Irving A. Wood on September 26, 1925 in Willowvale, NY, where they shared a blessed union of 70 years until his passing in 1994. She was preceased by her daughters Doris Stockbridge, Jane Jones and her husband Gordon Jones and a great grandchild Mariah Riesel. Mrs. Wood taught music privately and was the Organist and Choir Director for Willowvale Methodist Church and the United Church of Christ for over 51 years. Harriet is survived by her beloved son Irving J. and his wife Norma Wood of Syracuse, NY, and a son-in-law Francis Stockbridge of Cohoes, NY. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Also friends in the Monticello unit of the Masonic Care Community and a dear friend Harriet Cutter. Mrs Wood's Celebration of life will be held Thursday July 23, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at the F.W. Fisk Funeral Home, 3309 Oneida St. Chadwicks, NY, where the Rev. Arthur Krawczenko will officiate.
