George Edward Brown, 90, departed this life on February 22, 2026, after a short illness. He was born on September 13, 1935, to John Francis and Florence Lorena (Smith) Brown. He attended Sauquoit Valley schools. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Upon discharge, he began working as an accountant; first for Mohawk Airlines and later for Sears Oil Company. He loved animals (especially cats), traveling, and watching his favorite TV shows. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen (Dowd) Brown, all nine of his siblings, and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Amy Vandehei, and his grandchildren, Cassondra Powers and Connor Vandehei. The family gathered privately to celebrate his life.
