Mr. Frank S. "Cheech" Dapice, 90, of Utica departed this life on Saturday June 18, 2016, at Utica Rehab and Nursing Center.

He was born in Utica, the son of the late Rosario and Maria Antonia (Sarno) Dapice. He was educated in local schools and enlisted in the US Army in 1943, and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He worked at Hemstrought's Bakery for many years, and married Nelly Jean Walters in 1986; she died June 29, 2014.

Cheech was a very special man with a heart of gold and a love for life. He was compassionate, loving, generous and kind to everyone.

He will be sadly missed by his beloved caregiver and niece Carmella Marie Tripepi, Deerfield, NY; His three step children Deborah Lynn Jeanblanc, Belpre, OH, Dr. William Dean Jeanblanc and his wife Katy, West Bath, ME, and Wesley Jeanblanc, Key West, FL; One sister-in-law Artie Peters Dapice.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews that were like his own children. He was predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and Edward Montemurro, Rita D and Felix J "Phil" Talarico, Louise and Carl Tripepi, Josephine and Stanley Schmitter, and Carmelita and Edward Long; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Frances Dapice, Rocco J Sr. and Rose Dapice, Anthony and Ena Dapice, and Rosario Dapice Jr.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 am from the John L Matt Funeral Home, 3309 Oneida St Chadwicks-New Hartford, NY;
And at 10 am from the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Salerno, with military honors conferred.
Friends may call Monday from 4-6 at the John L Matt Funeral Home.
Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
