Mr. Frank A. Barone, 88, a resident of the Eastern Star Home entered into rest with his family by his side on Saturday, September 11, 2010. Frank was born in Utica, NY, the son of the late Fortunato and Rosa Grieco Barone. He was educated in local schools and was a veteran of WWII serving in the army as a infantry engineer. Mr. Barone was the Sales Manager and Vice President of the former Castle Ford in Herkimer, NY for over 40 years. He was married to the former Mary Pittala, who died in 2001. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Holly Barone of Webster, NY; five daughters: Roseann Barone and Francine Barone, both of Herkimer, NY; Melissa Barone Verrill and her fiance Cross Nicastro of Frankfort, NY; Melinda Barone Kisker of Herkimer, NY and Jackie Barone of Mohawk, NY. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Tom Barone, Ashley Verrill, Taylor Barone, Carly and Chase Kisker. Frank was pre-deceased by his infant daughter, Deborah; his brother, Samuel Barone; and his sister, Theresa D'Esopo. Mr. Barone's Funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 from the John L. Matt Funeral Home, 3309 Oneida St., Chadwicks, NY and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Anthony's & St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Main St., Herkimer, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Thomas Lawless, Pastor. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, NY, with full military honors.
