Mr. Eugene F. (Gene) "Wiggy" Wiggins, 80, of Cassville, NY, entered into rest on Sunday September 05, 2010 with his family by his side. Eugene was born 1929 in Edmeston, NY, the son of the late Earl and Effie Crim Wiggins, attended New Berlin elementary school and graduated West Winfield high school. He later joined the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Gene worked for Kelsey Hayes, Agway and was last employed with Big John's of Clifton Park, NY. He was married to Doris Ruth Grooms until her passing in 1975. On December 16,1977 he married Marie Rogers with whom they shared their life and children together. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and horseman. Gene and HOBO his buckskin horse were strong competitors in Gymkana. Gene will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Marie and his children: LuAnn Cook and her husband Jarold of Westmoreland, NY; Vickie Drake of Whitesboro, NY; Joan Conklin of Cassville, NY; Christine North and her husband Robert of Utica, NY; Greg Rogers of Cassville, NY; Michael Rogers of Michigan; and Joanne Carey and her husband Darrell of Washington. At the request of Gene there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited on Saturday September 18,2010 at 2:00 p.m. at West Winfield cemetery Rt 20 West Winfield,NY for a gravesite service with full military honors . A celebration of life will be held on his birthday on November 07,2010 at a place yet to be announced. Also survivng are his 17 grandchldren and 5 great grandchildren . He will be missed greatly by grandchildren Chad Hull; Ryan Holmes; Trevor Wiggins; Nicole and Travis Helmer. Gene was predeceased by 1 grandson; brothers; Carl, Earl, Harold, and Roger.
