Eleanor who died at 100 years old wrote her own obituary.

Don't cry or weep for me because death is meant to be.

I was born in Utica, New York, January 1, 1925 to Michael and Agnes (Kocyba) Lebedjewski.  I spent most of my young life in Whitesboro, New York and  graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1943.

During the second world war, I worked at Rome Air Depot. I then worked for General Electric for 34 years!! retiring in 1984.

On August 7,1948 I married William Fagan in Utica. Bill passed away in June 2008 and we enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage.

In the early 1980's I became interested in art and joined the Utica Art Association and the Creative Artists Traveling Society (C,A.T.S.) with whom I enjoyed numerous trips.

I am survived by my one daughter, Gail, and her husband, Paul Cackett in Fort Worth, Texas and my two wonderful grandchildren Luke and Lilly Cackett.

I am also survived by one niece, Barbara and her husband, Chris, great nieces and nephews and a cousin.

I was pre-deceased in death by my sister Dorothy, her husband, John, and my niece, Margie, and nephew, Jay.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Eleanor on Saturday September 13, 2025 at Tony's Pizza in Washington Mills, NY from 12-3 pm. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Utica Zoo. 1 Utica Zoo Way. Utica NY 13501.
