Donald B. Jeffrey, 91, of 907 Brayton Park Place, entered into rest on January 8, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Utica, NY in 1919, the son of the late Bernard and Katherine Schneider Jeffrey and was educated in local schools. Donald entered the U.S. Army in 1942 and received the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Jeffrey was a well known hardware merchant and worked in the family business originally located at Washington and Genesee Street. His late father established the business in 1925 as Jeffrey and Spath Hardware, Inc. and this later became known as Jeffrey Hardware, Inc., now located at 329 Bleecker St., Utica, NY. Mr. Jeffrey will be sadly missed by his loyal friends and patronizers. All are welcome to attend his mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011 at St. John's Church, 520 John St. Utica, NY. A full military honors will be presented at the church at the conclusion of the mass. Interment will be at St. Joseph's cemetery in the Spring.
