Mr. Devere R. Michael Wheat, 75, of St. Luke's Home, entered into rest Sunday March 25, 2012. Devere who was referred as Michael, was born in Utica, NY, the son of the late Frances M. Hanagan and Donald Wheat. He was educated in local schools and at the age of 18 enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served for three years. Michael worked for many years as a security guard and was last employed with the Rooney Protective Agency. He retired in Forestport, NY, where he enjoyed living in the Adirondack area. Michael is survived by his sister Mrs. Dolores Jweid, Whitesboro, NY; his brother and sister-in-law Don and Frances Wheat, of Fairfax, Va; his niece Mellissa Jweid and his nephew John Jweid. Also surviving are the many care givers at St. Luke's Home, where Michael resided for 15 months. A private family gathering was held at the John L. Matt Funeral Home.
