David Mark Smith, age 64, passed away on August 12, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, NY. Born on August 12, 1958 to John and Helen Smith in Ft. Myers, Florida. Predeceased by his parents and a step-sister, Susan Farrell of Half Moon Bay, CA, David is survived by two sisters, Katie (David) Coyle of St. Augustine, Fla., Julie Wrench of Fairport, NY; five brothers, Ted Smith, Norm (Cindy) Smith, Jeff (Stephanie) Smith, Kenny Smith of Enfield and Tom Smith of Romulus, NY. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins. David loved moto-x, Nascar, he liked to ride his scooter around to see friends until he was unable to ride. He was known as "Cricket" to many friends and family. Cricket possessed an encyclopedic-knowledge of many aspects of motorcycling from bikes to riders to weekly race results. Some say he had a role in making the "hoody" what it is today. He enjoyed sending letters and cards to friends, and thoroughly enjoyed receiving them. He liked telling stories, even if told many, many times over. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in his name to the charity of your choice.
