Christina F.
Stamboly
July 7, 2024
Christina Frances (Kramarchyk) Stamboly, 68, died in the early hours of Sunday, July 7, 2024 with her family by her side. Christina was born on November 23, 1955, to Eleanor M (Pike) Kramarchyk and Metro Kramarchyk. Her older sister, Donna Leah (Kramarchyk) Smith was waiting for her at home, while her little brother, Andrew William Kramarchyk, would not come along for another six years. Christina and her family were multi-generational Watervlietians, and Chrissy was educated in the Watervliet City Schools, graduating from WHS in 1973.
After high school Chrissy began working, primarily in the restaurant industry, however later in life she worked as a billing clerk in a central New York law firm and as an administrative assistant at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. It was at one of her restaurant jobs where she met the love of her life, William Stamboly. Billy was a Utica native who had a passion for creating delicious food and was a chef at many fine Italian restaurants from Syracuse to Albany. It was at the former Grimaldi's restaurant in Albany where Chrissy and Billy met and were soon married in Watervliet. Within a few years the young couple moved from Watervliet to Utica to start a business and a family.
In short order they welcomed their son, Anthony, to the world in 1983 and three years later came their daughter, Laura. For nearly 30 years the Stamboly's made Utica their home: the kids were educated there, and Chrissy and Billy built their careers there. They also had the support of the greater Stamboly family in the Utica area as well as frequent trips for birthdays and holidays from the Kramarchyk/Smith clan from Watervliet. In 2010 a business opportunity saw Chrissy and Billy move 55 miles west to North Syracuse. It is here where Christina would write the final chapters of her life. With her children grown and living and working in Ballston Spa and Adams, NY. Chrissy and Billy made new friends in Syracuse while still staying connected to their friends and family in Utica and Watervliet. They also never interrupted their annual trips to Saratoga in August.
Christina is survived by her husband, William Stamboly of North Syracuse; her son, Anthony Stamboly of Ballston Spa; her daughter Laura Stamboly of Adams, NY; her brother, Andrew (Joanne) Kramarchyk, of Columbia, South Carolina; her brother-in-law, Tyler Smith of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; her sister-in-law, Joanne (John) Demma of Clinton, NY; and her sister-in-law Cindy (James) Peters, of Utica, NY; her grandson, Adrian Kratzert of Ballston Spa, NY; her nephews and nieces: Todd, Erik, and Jeremy Smith of Watervliet; Katerina Kramarchyk of Astoria, Queens, and Demetrius (Jill) Kramarchyk of Menands, NY; John (Kelly) Demma, of Spotsylvania, VA, Jamie Demma, of Manhattan, NY, and Jené (Dominick) Spinella, of Schenectady, NY; Joey, Lyndsay and Allyssa Peters of Utica, NY, and lifelong friend to the entire Stamboly family, Tito (Lisa) Colon.
Christina was predeceased by her parents, Eleanor and Metro Kramarchyk of Watervliet, her sister, Donna Leah Smith of Watervliet, her aunt and dearest lifelong friend, Maggie Pike of Latham, NY, and her Mother-in-law and Father-in-law, Adeline and William Stamboly, Sr. of Utica, NY.
