Carolina Degni Deater, 90, of Utica entered into rest on Monday December 05 ,2011 at the home of her daughter and extended loved one's at her side in Rochester,NY. She was born in Utica,NY the daughter of the late Michael and Anita Vespia Degni, was educated in local schools and was a 1940 graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. During the War she worked at Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, NY. On July 02,1949 she married Michael Deater a union of 36 years until his passing of February 18,1985. For many years she worked at GE Broad and Bleeker St Utica and was a lunch monitor at the Utica city school districts. Carolina will be sadly missed by her beloved Children Jean Bryant and her husband Edmund, Rochester,NY;Michael Deater and his wife Penny Jo,Palm Bay ,Fl and John Deater and his wife Debra, Utica,NY. Her beloved Grandchildren, Michael , Brittany , Mindy, Amber , Caleb, Tiffany and her Fiance Jarrod , Ross .Also survivng are her six great gandchildren Jordan,Monica, Georgio,Deangelo,Johna,and Bella. One Brother Dante Degni, Clifton Park,NY; One sister Jennie Forte,Utica; Brother in-law Raymond Vescera, Baldwinsville,NY; Three sister in-law Rose Degni,Vernon,NY; Susanne Degni,N.C.; Mary Rebisz, Syracuse,NY. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her three sisters ; Stella Graziano, Vincenza Ciccione, Eleanora Vescera. Five brothers Felix Stranges, Victor Degni, Michael Degni, John Degni, Louis Degni, and her granddaughter Lydia.
